Scaling Our Roots
The northern-most city of Rajasthan, Sri Ganganagar is located near the border of the state of Punjab and also the international border of the nation of Pakistan. It is often referred to as “the food basket of Rajasthan” due to its fertile plains similar to those one would find in Punjab. The area was once barren and dry but was converted to a green town thanks to Maharaja Ganga Singh who constructed the Gang Canal to carry excess water from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh to the town.
Our plantation represents a commitment to sustainable agriculture in the heart of Sri Ganganagar. By leveraging precision irrigation in the early stages and transitioning to robust watering methods as the canopy matures, we have optimized growth rates and tree health.
The success of this 8 acre plot lies in our two-phase water management strategy:
Years 1-2 (The Establishment Phase): We utilized drip Irrigation to deliver water directly to the root zone. This minimized weed growth, conserved water, and ensured the saplings survived the intense heat of northern Rajasthan.
Current Phase (The Growth Phase): Having established a deep and resilient root network, we have shifted to flood Irrigation. This provides the high volume of hydration necessary for eucalyptus to gain biomass rapidly during its peak growing years.
Since breaking ground in Oct. 2022, our 8 acre Eucalyptus plantation has undergone a strategic evolution in water management to ensure maximum timber yield and tree health.
